STC Welcomes India's Opening of Representative Office in the Capital Aden

The Southern Transitional Council (STC) has welcomed the opening of a representative office by the Embassy of the Republic of India in the capital, Aden, effective today, October 1, 2025. The STC leadership expressed its deep appreciation for this positive step, which reaffirms the time-tested historical relations between our people in the South and the friendly people in the Republic of India.

The inauguration of India's representative office in the capital, Aden, reflects the seriousness of our friends in the Republic of India in coordinating stances and strengthening joint cooperation. Moreover, it represents a beacon of hope for citizens seeking medical treatment in India, as well as for students pursuing higher studies at India's universities. Furthermore, it provides an important channel of communication between the two countries to enhance the level of mutual cooperation in various fields.

The STC leadership reiterates that the capital, Aden, enjoys a stable security environment and offers favourable conditions for the work of diplomatic missions and international organizations. The STC confirms its readiness to provide all forms of support and facilities to ensure the office performs its duties smoothly and efficiently.

While highly valuing this step by the Indian side, the STC urges the embassies of brotherly and friendly countries to take similar measures by opening their missions in the capital, Aden, thereby supporting the path of stability, promoting the bilateral partnerships, and facilitating the provision of consular and humanitarian services.
