The STC Local Leadership in Almahrah Issues Statement
The local leadership executive body (LLEB) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Almahra Gov...
The Southern Transitional Council is following with grave concern the campaign of arbitrary arrests carried out by the terrorist Houthi militias, which targeted eleven (11) United Nations employees in Sana’a on Sunday, 31 August 2025. This campaign was accompanied by raids on UN premises and the confiscation of its official properties.
Such move is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and of relevant UN conventions and charters.
The Council strongly rejects such terrorist practices and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all abducted personnel, whether they are employees of the United Nations, international and local organizations, civil society groups, or diplomatic missions. The continued detention of these individuals constitutes a crime and a grave violation of the most basic rules of humanitarian and human rights work.
The Council also reiterates its call on international organizations and UN agencies operating in areas under Houthi control to relocate their offices to the capital, Aden, where the Council will guarantee all possible facilities to enable them to continue their humanitarian and relief work in full freedom and safety, in the service of citizens across all governorates.
