Mr. Anis al-Sharafi, Head of the Political Body in the General Secretariat of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met on Wednesday with Mr. Albert Scott, Director of the Office of the United Nations Special Envoy, in the capital, Aden.
The meeting, attended by Political Body deputy head Mohamed Batis and deputy head of the Foreign Affairs Commission Mohammed Ali, reviewed the STC’s recent restructuring process and its role in enhancing institutional efficiency, empowering cadres of the South, and consolidating national partnership.
The meeting focused on economic shifts, measures to stabilize the local currency, and safeguarding economic stability, emphasizing preventing any setback that could trigger economic collapse.
During the meeting, Mr. Al-Sharafi affirmed the STC’s support for President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi’s efforts to manage economic reforms aimed at improving living conditions, noting these efforts align with the Prime Minister’s measures and Central Bank actions to enhance financial system performance, regulate the banking sector, and protect currency stability, bolstering confidence in the national economy and its reflection on essential goods’ prices.
Al-Sharafi explained that the STC prioritizes communicating with the international community and engaging seriously in any political process aimed at achieving a just and lasting solution that takes into account the aspirations of the people of the South and reflects the reality of the land and political identity.
