The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regularly scheduled meeting today, Wednesday, headed by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, in the presence of the STC's ministers and deputy ministers in the government and heads of the auxiliary bodies.

President Al-Zubaidi opened the meeting with a concise overview of measures implemented during the first phase of the restructuring and organizational reform plan, which included the General Secretariat and auxiliary bodies of the STC Presidium, outlining the primary and subsidiary objectives of the bodies and their executive mechanisms, as specified in the approved bylaws.

President Al-Zubaidi confirmed these measures respond directly to current shifts and challenges to enhance the performance of the council's central and local bodies, and stressed the importance of transitioning to a new phase of institutional work based on clearly defined planning and organizational standards through realistic, time-bound plans subject to continuous oversight and utilizing well-qualified competencies capable of assuming political and organizational responsibility.

During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi announced the formation of presidential committees, chaired by several STC Presidium members, which will undertake political guidance and supervise the performance of local bodies in the governorates and university coordination bodies. Their top priorities include empowering competencies, broadening political participation, and strengthening communication channels with various components and segments of Southern society, in accordance with the principles of the Southern National Charter to reinforce the unifying national identity and pave the way for a new phase of political work based on partnership and institutionalism.

The meeting then focused on the severe economic and living conditions facing the people of the South across various governorates, where President Al-Zubaidi emphasized that the continuation of the current situation is unacceptable, and reaffirmed that the STC places its national responsibilities towards the people of the South at the top of its priorities, and will proceed over the coming period to activate its supreme executive body and maintaining its presence within the framework of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and the government, directing all potentialities towards activating state institutions, in particular revenue and economic ones, to improve the public services and living conditions for citizens.

President Al-Zubaidi concluded the meeting by emphasizing that the coming phase requires a high degree of seriousness, discipline, and seamless integration of roles among all bodies, and working in a unified team spirit to accomplish the major national tasks entrusted to the Council during this pivotal phase of the South's history.
