STC Political Commission Hails President Al-Zubaidi's Strategic Steps to Bolster National Security of the South

The political commission (PC) assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Sunday, chaired by Dr. Khaled Ba-Madhaf, deputy head of the PC.

At the beginning of the meeting, the PC extended its warmest congratulations to President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, on the 53rd anniversary of the founding of the South Army, adding that celebrating this occasion is to commemorate a glorious history and a chronicle of immortal national heroism and Arab roles played by the heroes of our army both in the South and the region.

The meeting has lauded the latest security measures, which include a decree by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi to assign Brigadier General Abdulrahman al-Muharrami to oversee all security services, counter terrorism, and restructure and reorganize these services. In this context, the PC stressed the importance of this step in bolstering
Southern national security and coordinating the efforts of security services and military units to combat terrorism.

Similarly, the meeting commended the ongoing political, national, and popular movements in Hadhramaut and Abyan, underscoring the significance of coalescing around the STC and the Southern Armed Forces. This, it asserted, is essential to realizing the aspirations of the people of the South and thwarting ill-intended plans aimed at imposing specific agendas on the South.

Likewise, the meeting cautioned against attempts by Yemeni occupation forces to plunge Abyan Governorate into terrorism. This is aimed at targeting its historical and logistical significance and diverting it from its Southern nationalist struggle against Yemeni occupation, calling for strengthening the popular base in Abyan and maintaining ties with it, as well as achieving cohesiveness at all levels to thwart any attempt to undermine the just cause of the people of the South.

In the same context, the meeting focused on the absence of controls to regulate the influx of displaced persons from the North governorates, which has led to a decline in living conditions, public services, and security in the South, giving rise to a multitude of issues. Therefore, the PC has urged relevant authorities to urgently put in place a framework to regulate this displacement.

At the end of its meeting, the PC reviewed a monitoring and follow-up report on the most prominent local and international developments, as well as a military situation report presented by the Head of the Moral Guidance Division in the Southern Ground Forces.
