STC Support Center Discusses Relations with Political Actors

The Research and Decision Support Center (RDSC) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its fourth regular meeting for the month of July today, Tuesday, in the capital, Aden, chaired by Dr. Mohammed Jaafar, deputy head of the RDSC.

The meeting focused on discussing papers presented by members of the Center that dealt with the nature of relations with various political actors in Yemen and the need for clear guidelines to govern these interactions.

The meeting has emphasized the importance of building relations between the North and South based on common interests and the need for a clear vision that "the North is the North and the South is the South," rejecting any illusions of unification.

The meeting warned against any attempts to "shuffle the cards" and confuse the vision for the future of the South, which could weaken and divide the southern national front, ultimately benefiting other opposing forces and raising concerns that certain parties are exploiting state resources and institutions to advance their own agendas, which are seen as standing against the aspirations of the people of the South.

Likewise, the meeting has expressed concern over the actions of certain Yemeni political parties and the repercussions of poisoning narratives against the South to undermine the cause of its people, stressing the importance of collective national responsibility to counter any attempts to tear apart the social fabric.

The meeting stood before a range of topics on its agenda in preparation for submitting recommendations to the Presidium of the STC.
