FAEA Deputy Director Meets with UN Envoy Representatives to Discuss Developments in Political Process and Humanitarian Landscape

Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Authority (FAEA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met today, Monday, in the capital Aden with Ms. Emma Box, Head of the Political Section at the Office of the UN Special Envoy in Amman, to discuss the latest developments in the political process and humanitarian landscape.

In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Brett Scott and Ms. Tamani Ahmed, heads of the political section at the UN Envoy's office in the capital, Aden, Mr. Al-Sharafi stressed the need to develop a comprehensive and non pre-conditioned political process that guarantees reaching just and sustainable solutions, including all pivotal issues, foremost among which is the just cause of the people of the South.

Mr. Al-Sharafi indicated that the escalation by the Houthi terrorist militias has thwarted all efforts of the political process, exacerbated the economic and humanitarian crisis, and prioritized addressing the humanitarian, economic, and service conditions in the liberated governorates as top priorities to maintain the existing partnership in the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), the government, the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission (CRC), and other relevant bodies.

For her part, Ms. Emma highlighted the keenness of the UN Special Envoy's office to engage with all parties and converging viewpoints from the standpoint of its mediating role, ensuring urgent interventions to address the current humanitarian crisis and pave the way for comprehensive and sustainable solutions.
