Dr. Saleh Al-Haj, Director of the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Authority (FAEA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met today, Saturday, with a Swiss media team consisting of journalist Daniel Simon Bochum and photographer Dominic Switzer at the FAEA headquarters in the capital, Aden.
Dr. Al-Haj warmly welcomed the visiting media team, expressing his hope for continued visits and collaboration in conveying a positive image of the security, stability, freedom of opinion, and expression that the South enjoys, as well as the need to shed light on the dire humanitarian and living conditions endured by the citizens.
In response to the team's questions, Dr. Al-Haj provided a comprehensive overview of the political, military, economic, and humanitarian conditions prevailing in the country as a consequence of the hostile and terrorist activities perpetrated by the Houthi militia, their detrimental impact on the national economy and the livelihood of citizens, in addition to the threat to global maritime navigation, regional and international security, and peace.
Dr. Al-Haj further emphasized that the restoration of the South State would bolster and support regional and international security and stability, highlighting the prominent role of the Southern Armed Forces in combating terrorism and smuggling in cooperation with international partners.
The meeting also reviewed the stages of the launch of the Southern National Dialogue and its achievements, which culminated in the outcomes of the consultative meeting and the signing of the Southern National Charter. Dr. Al-Haj explained that all participants did not differ on the failure of unity, but rather there is an agreement among all components and forces of the people of the South on the importance of restoring and building the independent federal state of the South, adding: "Unity was a miscalculation by the southerners, and a heavy price has been paid for it to this day."
