Al-Haj Meets with Head of Le Monde Décrypté

 

Dr. Saleh Al-Haj, Director of the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Authority (FAEA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met today, Thursday, in his office in the capital, Aden, with French political researcher Gérard Vespierre, Head of Le Monde Décrypté.

The meeting, which was attended by Mr. Lutfi Shatara, Head of the Research and Decision Support Center (RDSC), discussed a range of current local and regional political issues, the role of research institutions in anticipating the future, and challenges through innovative solutions that support peace efforts.

Dr. Al-Haj reviewed the developments related to the UN-led peace process to end the conflict and bring about peace to the country and the region, the UN roadmap and its implications in light of the ongoing Houthi escalation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the continued threat to international maritime navigation, local, regional, and international security and peace.

Dr. Al-Haj called for the importance of research centers and institutions, highlighting the pressing issues of peoples and their justice and the challenges facing the world through objective and accurate analytical studies.

Dr. Al-Haj affirmed that the STC is working to strengthen cooperation with various international research institutions, including French ones.

In turn, Mr. Vespierre reviewed the nature of the work of Le Monde and its global interests, explaining that the center pays attention to the developments of events in the South, Yemen, and the region.

Mr. Vespierre noted the status of the cause of the people of the South today in international forums, expressing the center's aspiration to strengthen cooperation with various research institutions of the South in various fields.
