Dr. Saleh Mohsen Al-Haj, Director of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), held a series of productive meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defense Committees in the Parliament of the UK.

Dr. Al-Haj met with the Director of Arabian Peninsula Affairs at the British Foreign Office, Ivan Parkes, on addressing escalations in the Red Sea and steps to bring about an inclusive UN-led political settlement for the crisis in the country.

Dr. Al-Haj also met with the UK Member of Parliament, Royston Smith, to discuss the work of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee with a focus on the Middle East and keeping the South on the diplomatic agenda in the current Red Sea context.

The two sides discussed ways to include the South on the diplomatic agenda in the context of the current crisis in the Red Sea.

In this context, Dr. Al-Haj discussed, today, with a member of the British Parliament and a prominent member of the Defense Select Committee, John Spellar, the escalation in the Red Sea and the role of the South in the coordinated global response.
