NSMA Head Meets with Delegation of German Public Television Channel ZDF

Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the official spokesman for the STC, met on Wednesday in his office in the capital, Aden, with the media delegation of broadcaster Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF), the German public television channel ZDF.

In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe'y, Deputy Head of NSMA, Mr. Al-Awlaqi confirmed that Aden welcomes its visiting guests, including foreign media delegations, to convey the natural image of security and stability in the capital, Aden, and the governorates of the South, indicating that the capital, Aden, is an enchanting city that projects positive local and international interaction and influence that make it a cosmopolitan city for peace, diversity, and tolerance.

Regarding the peace process, Al-Awlaqi reaffirmed the warning against being deceived by the humanitarian demands claimed by the Houthis to strengthen their field position and military mobilizations, pointing out that this group is a war militia that implements an Iranian agenda in the region, noting that the crisis in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait from maritime piracy by Houthi militias only serves Iran, warning of any political rewards for Houthi militias, such as the Stockholm agreement.

Al-Awlaqi explained that the STC is keen to develop a special negotiating framework for the issue of the people of the South in the political process as a pivotal issue for achieving comprehensive, lasting, and sustainable peace, elucidating that the capital, Aden, witnessed in recent days a meeting of the House of Commons, which was held to develop the political and institutional performance of the STC to reach an advanced stage towards building an independent civil and federal state of the South.

At the end of his speech, al-Awlaqi affirmed facilitating the tasks of the German media team in conducting its media program in the capital, Aden, and the governorates of the South.

For its part, the German media delegation praised the warm reception and the facilities provided to the delegation to achieve its goal of conveying the facts of the humanitarian situation and following up on developments on the ground.
