Chairman of the National Assembly meets the Director of the UN Envoy Office in Aden the capital

Chairman of the National Assembly, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, received at the Assembly's headquarter in the capital Aden on Thursday, Mr. Marwan Ali, Director of the Office of the UN Envoy to Yemen, Mr. Martin Griffiths.

The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the terms of the agreement signed between the Southern Transitional Council and the legitimacy government in the Saudi capital Riyadh under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to start solving the problems of the payment of salaries and the release of the remainder of the 2019 budget related to the stability of the services of electricity, water, health, oil derivatives, etc. and solving the passports issue.

Mr. Marwan Ali, Director of the Office of the UN Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith, congratulated the Transitional Council on the signing of Riyadh agreement, which marks the beginning of a new phase and a prelude to the Council's participation with legitimacy in the settlement of the upcoming political negotiations to resolve the Yemeni crisis, including the southern issue and ways to reach positive solutions that satisfy everyone in order to bring peace to the region.

Mr. Marwan Ali praised the role of the Transitional Council and its leadership and its active contribution in the period of calm, security stability, and normalization of life, besides supporting the work progress in military, security and service institutions and public utilities and the continued work of UN organizations in the capital Aden and neighboring governorates.

For his part, Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, praised the fraternal efforts and initiative of Saudi Arabia led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the role of the United Arab Emirates represented in the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith and his office in the capital Aden, which resulted in the consensus and signing of Riyadh  agreement.
