President Al-Zubaidi receives the head of the European Union delegation

The President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, received on Wednesday,at his residence in the Saudi capital Riyadh, the Ambassador Hans Grundberg, Head of the European Union Mission to Yemen.

In the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi reviewed the efforts made by the Southern Transitional Council to implement the mechanism to accelerate the Riyadh Agreement, stressing that the Southern Transitional Council has completed the delivery of the necessary documents and plans required to implement the acceleration mechanism, whether on the political or military side, including the separation of forces in Abyan Governorate and their transfer to Battle fronts, as well as the transfer of military forces outside the capital, Aden.

The President also appreciated the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its eagerness to find urgent solutions through the formation of the expected government, which must exercise its tasks directly to alleviate the suffering of civilians, by providing services, delivering salaries and addressing the currency collapse crisis, stressing on the need for the government to fulfill its obligations to support the governor of the capital, Aden.

President Al-Zubaidi affirmed the Council’s position in support of the UN envoy Martin Griffiths and his efforts to establish peace, pointing to the need for the Council’s participation in all details of the political process, starting with the discussion of the joint declaration file and ending with the final political process consultations.

For his part, Ambassador Hans expressed the European Union’s support for the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, praising the stance of the Southern Transitional Council and its positive handling of all peace efforts.
