STC Political Body Head Meets UN Resident Coordinator in the Capital Aden

The head of the Political Body of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi, met on Sunday in his office in the capital, Aden with Mr. Julien Harneis, the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator to the country, and his special assistant, Mr. Zakaria Saeed.

The meeting discussed a range of humanitarian issues and explored ways to enhance joint cooperation and coordination between the STC and the UN Office, aimed at improving the level of humanitarian response and alleviating citizens' suffering.

The UN Resident Coordinator outlined the organization’s efforts in providing humanitarian support and aid, reaffirming continued coordination with relevant authorities to implement humanitarian programs and projects across several vital sectors.

For his part, Al-Sharafi reiterated the STC’s support for all efforts undertaken by the UN Office in the humanitarian field, and highlighted the importance of strengthening partnership and joint coordination to promote humanitarian stability, support sustainable development, and meet the needs of citizens during this phase.
