President Al-Zubaidi Inspects Work Progress at Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries and Its Sectors

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), conducted an inspection visit on Thursday to the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries (AIF) in the capital, Aden, and was received at the ministry's main building by Maj. Gen. Salem Abdullah Al-Suqatri, Minister of the AIF, along with a number of the ministry's undersecretaries and staff.

During the visit, the President toured the ministry's offices and reviewed the workflow in its sectors and departments, and listened to a brief explanation from Minister Al-Suqatri and the undersecretaries about a range of projects implemented by the ministry with support from international partners, particilarly institutional infrastructure projects that include the central laboratories, the Regional Center for Desert Locust Control, and the Central Veterinary Laboratory, in addition to ongoing projects, most importantly the rehabilitation of several landing centers and fishing ports across the coastal governorates.

Furthermore, President Al-Zubaidi reviewed the progress of the project to rehabilitate At-Tawahi Fishing Port, which is being reconstructed with funding from the German Development Bank at a total cost of $35 million, and also inspected the ongoing operations to remove sunken vessels from the port, which had hindered its activity over the past years.
