Al-Muharrami Reviews Tax Authority Workflow and Highlights Regular Revenue Transfers to the Central Bank

Mr. Abdul Rahman Abu Zara'a Al-Muharrami, Deputy President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), reviewed the workflow of the Tax Authority, including its achievements during the first half of the current year, 2025, the challenges it faces, and ways to overcome them.

This review took place during his meeting on Monday in the capital, Aden, with the head of the Tax Authority, Dr. Jamal Mohammed Srour, to discuss the development plans of the authority and the importance of regularly supplying all revenues to the Central Bank in the capital to improve the economic situation and ease citizens' suffering.

During the meeting, the head of the Tax Authority revealed a 28% increase in tax revenue collection during the first half of 2025, predicting the increase would reach 50% by year-end.

Mr. Al-Muharrami urged the authority's headship to develop tax collection mechanisms and programs in accordance with approved regulations and highlighted the importance of improving collection efficiency to boost state resources and reduce lost revenue, calling for simplified procedures for citizens.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Muharrami praised the efforts of the headship and employees of the Tax Authority in the liberated governorates, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation between all parties to achieve common goals and overcome challenges hindering tax operations.
