Mr. Abdul Rahman Abu Zara'a Al-Muharami, Deputy President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met today, Wednesday, with His Excellency Yoichi Nakashima, Ambassador of Japan to Yemen.
The meeting discussed a range of topics of shared interest and means of enhancing bilateral relations with Japan in various fields.
During the meeting, Al-Muharrami praised the unwavering support provided by the Japanese government in the developmental and humanitarian fields, stressing the importance of deepening this cooperation to serve the common interests of the two friendly peoples, and reviewed the latest developments in Yemen and the efforts underway to bring about peace and durably end the war.
For his part, the Japanese ambassador reaffirmed his country's steadfast support at this critical phase, stressing Japan's commitment to continue providing humanitarian and development assistance and contributing to peace and stability efforts, and expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by the PLC to achieve security and stability and improve the living conditions of citizens.
The meeting further explored ways to strengthen coordination and consultation in international forums to advance shared interests and contribute to promoting security and stability in the entire region.
