During the inauguration event, which was attended by Mr. Salem Ben Brik, Minister of Finance, the President listened to the Minister of State, Governor of the capital, Aden, and the administrative and technical staff supervising the RDC, who gave a detailed explanation of the centre, its sections, tasks, and work mechanisms, which are mainly based on collecting revenues and issuing licenses for practicing the professions, etc., at the governorate and district levels in an automated electronic manner and a unified networking system.
President Al-Zubaidi was also briefed on the immense benefits reached by the centre during its experimental period, including a comprehensive inventory of revenues and stopping financial waste, in addition to the increased ratio of central and local revenues in the governorate and districts and the high level of collection process.
In a speech to the executive office of the local authority of the capital, Aden, the President lauded the efforts made to establish the RDC by the governor of Aden, Mr. Lamlas, and the staff of the local authority, asserting that the establishment of this centre can be considered the first step for the full shifting to the electronic system of government services, like in neighbouring and developed countries.
The president applauded what he witnessed of the promising results of the centre’s work during the trial period in de-limiting financial waste and the huge positive differences in revenue collection ratios before and after the establishment of the RDC, indicating that the success of this pilot experiment necessitates the importance of spreading it to other governorates to benefit from it.
At the end of his speech, President Al-Zubaidi underscored the importance of redoubling efforts, enhancing and maintaining discipline in all state facilities, well-qualifying administrative and technical staff, and taking advantage of modern technology to save time and effort to keep abreast of accelerated developments in all fields on the path that returns to the capital, Aden, its splendid, pioneering, and pivotal role, for which it has been known throughout ancient and contemporary history.
