The Administrative Body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting on Wednesday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly and Acting President of the STC.
At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Issam Abdo Ali, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri gave an overall briefing on the developments of public affairs in the South, referring to the so-called "Yemeni Parliament, which is expired and lacks any legitimacy or popular presence, which recently announced the formation of committees to go to governorates of the South, under the pretext of evaluating the performance of local authorities.
The administrative body reaffirmed that the people of the South completely and categorically reject any attempts aimed at legitimizing the expired Council and would have no role or presence on its territory under any pretext whatsoever, as it represents a blatant challenge to their sterling will and aspirations expressed in mass rallies and popular events in all governorates of the South over three decades of unrelenting struggle.
In another context, the body saluted the 18th anniversary of the launch of the peaceful Southern Movement on July 7, stressing that this day is a milestone during which pain was transformed into a force of struggle and steadfastness in the face of the Yemeni occupation and an occasion to renew the pledge and loyalty to the ultimate sacrifices of the blessed martyrs and to emphasize the continuation of the march until the aspirations of the people of the South are achieved.
The body called on the people of the South to coalesce around the STC and move forward behind its leadership and the Southern Armed Forces, which continue to firmly confront all conspiracies targeting the South and its national cause.
The meeting reviewed several reports submitted by the Assembly's committees, most notably the security committee's report on the situation of traffic police in the capital, Aden, and the southern governorates of the South, in addition to a report on the water supply in the capital, where the reports were enriched with the necessary remarks and recommendations.
The meeting concluded with a presentation of the body's meeting schedule for the third quarter of 2025 and discussions on key citizen-facing issues, and the required recommendations and decisions were taken.
