STC Secretariat Discusses Economic Landscape Report on National Scene of the South

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its weekly meeting today, Sunday, in the capital, Aden, headed by Major General Kamal Hamshari, a member of the Presidium of the STC and Acting Secretary-General.

During its meeting, the Secretariat reviewed a report on the economic landscape, highlighting the sharp decline in economic, social, and public services across governorates of the South in the month of November 2024.

The meeting focused on the prominent difficulties facing local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) in governorates of the South, where the heads of the LLEBs in Almahra and Socotra, as well as the assistant LLEB for the Affairs of the Valley and Desert Districts of Hadhramaut, provided detailed explanations of the challenges they encounter in their workflow and potential solutions that would contribute to easing the challenges.

The meeting also discussed the latest developments on the national scene of the South, including recent political and security developments and the challenges facing the South given the current changes.

The meeting touched on the weekly activity report of departments of the Secretariat during the past week, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of its previous meeting.
