Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Monday, at the Assembly's headquarters with Deputy Executive Director of the Youth and Young Adults Welfare Fund (YYAWF), Mr. Wadah al-Sharafi, who gave an overview of the workflow of the fund and its ongoing projects and activities.
During the meeting, which was attended by Maeen Bekair, Director of Legal Affairs at the Fund, and Mazen Mohsen, Director of Studies and Research in the Rehabilitation and Training Sector at the Ministry of Youth and a member of the National Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri listened to a comprehensive explanation on the Fund's most prominent activities and work during the past period, as well as the overall difficulties and challenges facing its progress of work.
The meeting reviewed the fund's revenues and general budget, highlighting a recent decline in supplying allocated finances; approved share as stipulated by law. Therefore, this shortfall has hindered the implementation of several programs and projects in the capital, Aden, and other governorates.
Al-Kathiri affirmed the STC's commitment to ease the challenges facing the fund to meet the needs and aspirations of young people and athletes.
In turn, the YYAWF expressed gratitude to the leadership of the STC for their great attention to the youth and young adults segments and for their keenness to facilitate the fund's workflow to ensure optimal performance.
