The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting today, Thursday, chaired by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the STC and Chairman of the National Assembly, in the presence of the STC's ministers in government and heads of the auxiliary bodies.
At the beginning of its meeting, the Presidium stood before the latest developments on the Southern national scene, with a focus on the recent movements by some political parties and forces opposed to the cause of the people of the South. In this regard, the STC has reiterated its categorically rejection of any political activities by any party or component on the Southern territory outside the scope of the National Charter signed by the and parties of the South at the Southern National Dialogue Conference, and the STC will work to halt such activities in order to preserve the security, stability, and national unity of the South.
The Presidium expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the security services in completing the arrest of those wanted in the case of the kidnapped Ali Ashaal Al-Jaadani, affirming its support and backing for the efforts of the Public Prosecution, which is responsible for completing the necessary procedures to refer the case file to the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of the law.
In a separate context, the Presidium has expressed surprise over reports circulating in some media outlets of an armed raid on an office affiliated with the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) in the capital, Aden, urging these media outlets to verify the accuracy of their reporting and to obtain information from primary sources, especially given that the PLC has not issued any decision to establish any offices that operate outside the framework of the council's headquarters, departments, and general secretariat.
Furthermore, the Presidium has focused on the Houthi militia’s mobilization of forces on several fronts in Lahj, Al-Dhale'a, and Shabwa governorates, highlighting that the Houthis’ claims of defending the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip are a mere smokescreen aimed at diverting the international community's attention from their ongoing war against the South and their heinous crimes in areas under their control in North Yemen. In this context, the Presidium reaffirmed that the Houthis' renewed attempts to ignite war against the South are destined to fail, just as their previous attempts were thwarted by the bravery of our Southern Armed Forces.
At the end of its meeting, the Presidium touched on a range of political, organizational, and administrative topics and issues related to the work of both central and local bodies of the STC and took corresponding measures.
