STC Secretariat Stands Before Flash Floods in Hadramaut and Almahra Emphasizes Prompt Action for Resolving the Electricity Crisis


The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the STC's Presidium and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.

The meeting discussed a range of current issues, foremost of which are the health situation in Aden and certain governorates of the South and the repeated power outages with the advent of the summer season. The Secretariat emphasized the need for relevant authorities to quickly intervene to address and find swift solutions to these catastrophic conditions in the capital, Aden, and the other governorates of the South.

The Secretariat also reviewed the recent heavy rains and flash floods in Hadramaut and Almahra, which caused extensive damage, as well as the emergency measures that needed to be undertaken. Moreover, the meeting emphasized the importance of implementing the directives of President Aidarous al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), to move quickly, coordinate efforts, and harness all capabilities to mitigate the damage of the air depression.

Furthermore, the meeting discussed a report on the political scene in the southern national arena, submitted by the Political Department, which focused on a number of suspicious events and movements carried out by parties seeking to destabilize security and stability in the South.

The meeting reviewed the weekly activity report of the departments of the Secretariat and their work during the mentioned period, as well as the level of work discipline for the month of March, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
