President Al-Zubaidi Discusses Prospects for Joint Cooperation and Coordination with Egyptian Military Delegation

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received at his office in the capital, Aden, on Sunday the high-level Egyptian military delegation visiting our country led by Major General Mohammad Ismail Abdul-Fattah.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Da'eri, Minister of Defense in the power-sharing government, President Al-Zubaidi warmly welcomed the Egyptian delegation, lauding the fraternal and historical relations that have mutually existed between our country and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

President Al-Zubaidi highly valued the position of Egypt and H.E. President Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi in supporting the PLC and humanitarian aid to our people at various stages, as well as the pivotal role of the Egyptian army within the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the President discussed ways of joint coordination and cooperation between our country and the Arab Republic of Egypt in a range of military aspects, the most important of which are technical insurance, developing and bolstering repairing workshops of the Ministry of Defense, in addition to training and qualifying personnel and officers, and whatever can be provided by the Egyptian armed forces to our country in this field.

The meeting touched on the positive role of the Egyptian Navy’s assumption of the Combined Maritime Force (CMF) command within the joint international forces to secure al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden and to protect the security and safety of regional and international waters and international shipping lines.

The meeting was attended by Major General Dr. Saleh Mohammad Hassan, Assistant Minister of Defense, Major General Saleh Ali Hassan, Chief Joint Operations Staff, Brigadier General Ahmed Salem Al-Wadi, Director of the General Armament Department at the Ministry of Defense, Mr. Imad Mohammad, Office Head of the Vice Chairman of the PLC, and a number of military commanders.
