President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council and Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, received on Monday, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Didushkin.
In the meeting, President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi previewed the level of progress in implementing the Riyadh Agreement, praising the great role played by the Arab coalition countries, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, to implement the agreement by providing the necessary facilities and providing an environment conducive to achieving this.
President Al-Zubaidi praised the role that Russia plays in supporting peace in the region and the world, stressing that peace and dialogue are the best way to reach political solutions that meet the desires and aspirations of peoples, to end bloody conflicts and lead the region and the world to a comprehensive and lasting peace.
During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi stressed that the people of the south have a live and present issue that cannot be found temporary or transient solutions, and that there is no solution to that conflict except by returning to its roots and causes, represented by responding to the demands and aspirations of the people of the South to restore their state and identity.
For his part, the Russian ambassador affirmed that his country attaches the issue of the crisis in Yemen a special priority and is working with all active regional and international powers to reach a real and lasting peace.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammad Al-Ghaithi, Deputy Head of the General Department for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi, Member of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, and Mr. Adel Mutlaq, Member of the General Department of Foreign Affairs.
