STC Secretariat Discusses Media Landscape in the South and Coverage of Recent National Developments

The General Secretariat of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting on Wednesday at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, which was chaired by Mr. Abdulrahman Jalal Shaher Al-Subaihi, a member of the STC Presidium and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.

The meeting discussed a report on current media affairs in the scene, presented by the Media and Culture Authority, and focused on the media landscape regarding coverage of political, military, and security field developments, as well as victories achieved by the Southern Armed Forces, and efforts to enhance media discourse mechanisms and combat rumours, misinformation, and disinformation spread by hostile parties aiming to undermine security and stability in the country and the region.

The meeting reviewed the latest local and regional developments, particularly concerning ongoing activities related to the open-ended mass sit-ins in the governorates of the South that are calling on the political leadership, led by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, to declare the State of South Arabia.

Furthermore, they touched on several organisational and administrative aspects related to the Secretariat's tasks and meetings. In this context, certain measures were adopted to enhance the performance level of the central and local secretariat bodies.

Similarly, the meeting reviewed a report on the tasks and activities of the central and local bodies in the governorates, presented by the Planning, Organisation, and Capacity Development Authority, which included activities carried out over the past week, along with approving the minutes of the previous meeting after incorporating relevant remarks.
