The Supreme Executive Leadership of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting on Saturday in the capital, Aden, headed by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC).
The meeting reviewed progress on implementing previous outcomes, focusing primarily on ongoing preparations for donor and economic conferences in the capital, Aden, and received a briefing from Dr. Wa'ed Badheeb, Minister of International Cooperation, on conference arrangements, agendas, expected objectives to achieve, and anticipated support for humanitarian response programs.
Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, Governor of the capital, Aden, and Deputy Governor for Development Affairs Adnan Al-Kaf, head of the Economic Conference's technical committee, detailed completed preparations and arrangements, including the conferences' timetable, tracks, programs, planned workshop topics, and coordination mechanisms with the private sector to bring success to the event.
In this regard, President Al-Zubaidi stressed the critical importance of finalizing preparations for both conferences as scheduled, utilizing all available capabilities and resources, and coordinating with domestic and international partners, given the significance of the two events on the economic, humanitarian, and developmental recovery.
In another context, the meeting reviewed a report from Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Salem Al-Wali on market monitoring and price control efforts, including measures for fair sale pricing of essential goods and mechanisms addressing discrepancies observed during field inspections.
The meeting commended the efforts exerted by the Resources Committee, Central Bank Governor Ahmed Al-Mabaqi, the government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade represented by Minister Mohammed Al-Ashwal and his deputy, and local authorities and security services in the governorates and districts, which positively reflected on improving the currency exchange rate and lowering commodity prices, and emphasized continuing commercial inspection campaigns to ensure price stability and consumer protection.
The meeting also discussed the local authorities' arrangements and preparations for the 2025/2026 school year, including school openings and support for teachers maintaining attendance. In this respect, President Al-Zubaidi directed officials to expedite arrangements to ensure the educational process starts on time.
In his briefing, Mr. SALEM Thabet Al-Awlaqi, Chairman of the General Authority for Lands, emphasized that investors benefiting from publicly-owned land must begin investing within a period not exceeding six months from the date of the announcement; otherwise, the appropriate measures will be taken to revoke the land in case of failure to comply with the aforementioned announcement.
The meeting concluded by reviewing the Executive Leadership's work plan for August to December 2025, outlining service, administrative, financial, and oversight priorities across ministries, governorates, institutions, and bodies with appropriate decisions approved regarding them.
