Al-Muharrami Meets SJC Leadership and Affirms Supporting Judiciary Autonomy and Expediting Forcibly Laid-off Personnel Issue

Mr. Abdul Rahman Abu Zara'a Al-Muharami, Deputy President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), held a high-level meeting on Thursday with Judge Mohsen Yahya Talib, Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), and Judge Sahl Mohammed Hamza, Secretary-General of the SJC, to discuss the performance of the judiciary and its operational challenges in liberated governorates.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Al-Muharrami congratulated Judge Hamza on his appointment as Secretary General of the SJC and as a member of its Council, wishing him success in his duties and reaffirming his full support for the autonomy of the judiciary and reinforcing its role in upholding justice and the rule of law.

The meeting discussed the issue of those forcibly dismissed from their jobs in the civil, security, and military positions in the governorates of the South and mechanisms to develop the work of the committee to resolve the issues of laid-off personnel, headed by Judge Sahl, and to ensure the continuation of receiving and processing the files of those who were dismissed in accordance with legal controls and principles of justice.

Al-Muharrami affirmed his dedication to following up on this humanitarian and national file and to completing what was achieved in previous phases, asserting the need to overcome the difficulties facing the committee's work to effectively perform its tasks as required to serve rights and rebuild public trust in its institutions.

In turn, the SJC chairman appreciated Al-Muharrami's ongoing efforts and his unwavering support for the judiciary and strengthening its autonomy, highlighting his backing as an important pillar for promoting the rule of law and consolidating justice across state institutions.

Judge Hamza expressed his gratitude to Al-Muharrami for his unwavering support in redressing the issue of those forcibly laid off, affirming that the committee's work mechanisms will continue to be developed to advance administrative justice and safeguard rights, in accordance with top-leadership directives and principles of justice.
