STC Media Authority Deputy Head Meets Middle East Forum Delegation in the Capital, Aden

Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe'y, deputy head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met at the authority's headquarters in the capital, Aden, with the Middle East Forum (MEF) delegation that is currently visiting the country as part of a program of official visits and research meetings in the South.

The delegation included British researcher Jonathan Spyer, director of research at the Middle East Forum and editor-in-chief of Middle East Weekly, and American analyst Michael Rubin, director of policy analysis at the Forum, who are prominent specialists in Middle East affairs and related international policies.

During the meeting, they discussed several key files related to the cause of the people of the South and the pivotal role of the media in highlighting it, in addition to reviewing the ongoing efforts of the NSMA in building professional media institutions capable of conveying the voice of the South to regional and international forums.

In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Ali Al-Hadiani, a member of NSMA and press secretary of President Al-Zubaidi, and Ms. Samar Ahmed, head of the STC mission in the United States of America, Mr. Al-Yafe'y highlighted the importance of both media outreach and diplomatic engagement in advancing the cause of the South and bolstering its international presence.

The delegation lauded the growing media presence for the cause of the people of the South and expressed their deep interest in gaining a better understanding of the current developments in the South, and underscored the importance of strengthening communication channels and collaboration with media institutions and research centers in the region.

For his part, the NSMA deputy head warmly appreciated the visit and considered it a positive step towards expanding the circle of international interest in the cause of the people of the South, and pointed to the importance of partnership with research and media institutions that influence decision-making at the global level.
