Al-Muharrami Meets with Foreign Minister to Discuss Developments in the Diplomatic Landscape

Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Muharrami, Deputy President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Friday in the capital, Aden, with Dr. Sha'ea Mohsen Al-Zandani to discuss the latest developments in the political and diplomatic landscape.

During the meeting, Al-Muharrami received a comprehensive briefing from Minister Al-Zandani on the status of the embassies abroad and the services they provide to expatriates of our people in protecting their interests and facilitating their affairs, and ongoing efforts to bolster the country's presence on the regional and international stage.

Minister Al-Zandani outlined key reform steps the ministry has embarked upon, chief among them the full relocation of its operational headquarters to the capital, Aden, and the reactivation of its various offices; detailed efforts to address issues facing diplomatic staff at home and abroad and to find sustainable solutions for their situations, despite significant economic challenges and scarce resources; and noted that a number of foreign embassies have expressed a desire to resume their work from the capital, Aden, a move the government welcomes and for which it is well-prepared to offer necessary facilitations.

Al-Maluharrami praised the Foreign Ministry's efforts in its administrative and organizational reform track, affirming the Council's support for these measures, and stressed that these efforts—which include unifying diplomatic work and protecting diplomatic missions and ministry buildings through dedicated facility protection forces—are essential to enable the ministry to perform its duties with high efficiency, ultimately serving citizens and enhancing the country's international standing.

For his part, Minister Al-Zandani expressed his gratitude for Al-Muharrami's interest and his continued support for the ministry's work and reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing coordination and collaboration with various state institutions to best serve the public and private interest of the country and its citizens.
