Al-Kathiri Attends Launch of Aden Tourism Guide with Slogan “Aden: History and Tourism”

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), attended the launch event of the 'Aden Tourism Guide' in the capital, Aden, on Tuesday, which was organized by the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) and, with the slogan “Aden: History and Tourism,” was held under the kind patronage of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and Deputy Head of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC).

During the event, which was attended by Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of the NSMA and official spokesman of the STC, and Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe'y, deputy head of NSMA, Mr. Al-Kathiri delivered remarks underscoring the guide’s role in reviving and reflecting the historic and civilized status of the city of Aden, which has always been a beacon of civilization, coexistence, and cultural diversity. He also pointed out the importance of showcasing the archaeological monuments and promoting tourism sites of the city, which has suffered from neglect, sabotage, and destruction over the past three decades.

Ali Al-Kathiri applauded the efforts of young graduates who prepared and submitted their graduation project on the Aden Tourism Guide and hailed the role of NSMA in adopting the project and transforming it into a comprehensive tourism guide, stressing that the grassroots efforts of the youth-driven initiatives must evolve into sustainable achievements.

For his part, Mr. Badr Muawin, Deputy Governor of the capital, Aden, urged media professionals and journalists to launch media campaigns aimed at “reviving the status and reputation of the city of Aden through highlighting its security and stability, which he credited to the tireless efforts of security services. He also reaffirmed the guide’s role in boosting tourism both domestically and internationally.

Ms. Intisar Al-Hathli, Executive Director of Tourism Promotion, vowed full financial and logistical backing for the Aden Tourist Guide because of its prominent role in reviving and promoting the city’s tourism sector.

In turn, Mr. Qayid Mansour, head of the Aden tourism guide digital platform, expressed his deep gratitude to the leadership of NSMA for its unwavering support in transforming the initiative from an academic proposal into a published book and dedicated digital platform.

It is worth mentioning that the event marking the debut of the Tourism Guide witnessed the presence of a number of directors of media, culture, and tourism offices in the capital, Aden, as well as media members. journalists and public figures was interspersed with the distribution of print copies of the guide, while a documentary film showcased the newly launched digital platform dedicated to preserving and promoting the city’s historical heritage and cultural legacy.
