STC Political Commission Highlights Cohesiveness of the South and Argues Transferring the First Military Region from Hadhramaut

The Political Commission (PC) assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting for the first half of November today, Wednesday, chaired by Dr. Khaled Ba-Madhaf, deputy head of the PC.

The meeting focused on the political, economic, and security conditions in the governorates of the South. Moreover, they discussed recent developments in the regional and international political landscape and their implications for the cause of the people of the South.

The meeting discussed the military developments on the battlefronts with the Houthi militia, reviewing the latest field conditions and the militia's ongoing escalation in several areas of the South.

In this context, the PC underscored the imperative of bolstering the combat readiness and defensive capabilities of the Southern Forces to counter security challenges, particularly in light of the ongoing targeting of civilian objects and vital infrastructure perpetrated by the militia.

Furthermore, the PC touched on the dire economic and living conditions endured by citizens of the South, highlighting the challenges posed by the deterioration of essential services such as the local currency and electricity outages, emphasizing the need to intensify efforts to improve the living conditions of citizens.

In a separate context, the PC expressed its deep sorrow and sadness over the martyrdom of two Saudi duty soldiers following a cowardly attack perpetrated by a soldier affiliated with the First Military Region in the city of Seiyun, Hadhramaut Valley.

The PC strongly condemned this terrorist act, viewing it as an attempt to destabilize security and stability in the Valley of Hadhramaut, and demanded the transferring of military forces from the First Military Region, arguing that their presence is a major obstacle to the stability of the region, highlighting the need to empower the people of Hadramaut to assume responsibility for securing and preserving their land.

The PC concluded its meeting by calling on the people of the South to coalesce around the STC as the legitimate representative of their just cause, stressing the importance of the cohesiveness of the South in the face of any attempts aiming at undermining their solidarity, dividing them, and tear apart their synergy from achieving the supreme goal and aspirations of the people towards restoring their state.

At the end of its meeting, the PC reviewed a range of topics on its agenda, approved the previous minutes, and would submit its suggestions and recommendations.
