Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, chaired today, Thursday, a joint high-level meeting of military and security commanders in the capital, Aden, and Abyan governorates.
In the meeting, which was attended by Abyan Governor Major General Abu Bakr Hussein, the Fourth Military Region Commander Major General Fadl Hassan al-Amri, the Security Belt Forces Commander Brigadier General Mohsen Al-Wali, the Special Security Forces Commander Major General Fadl Ba'esh, Aden Security Director Major General Muthar Ali Naji, and Abyan Security Director Brigadier General Ali Nasser al-Dheeb (Abu Mashal al-Kazmi), Mr. Al-Kathiri highlighted the importance of coordination and cooperation among all security services, military units, local authorities, and LLEBs in Aden and Abyan to tackle the current security challenges and strengthen security and stability.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Mr. Ahmed Al-Rabizi, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Advisors at the STC, Mr. Mohammed Al-Shaqqi, Assistant Secretary-General, Mr. Hassan Ghaithan Al-Kazmi, Head of the Local Leadership Executive Body (LLEB) of the STC in Abyan, Brigadier General Mukhtar Al-Nubi, Commander of the Abyan Axis, and Brigadier General Sanad Al-Rahwa, Commander of the Abyan Operational Axis, Commander of the First Presidential Guard Brigade, Mr. Al-Khatiri emphasized the need for cohesiveness, solidarity, coordination, and concerted efforts to decisively confront the threats with firm determination, given the circumstances facing Abyan Governorate, the flank of the South.
Al-Kathiri asserted that the Southern Armed Forces, under the leadership of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, will stand as an impenetrable fortress, alongside every citizen of the South, to thwart all criminal and terrorist plots by the Houthi militia, the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, and other hostile forces.
The military and security leaders put forward a range of suggestions and immediate measures to bolster the Southern Armed Forces' ability to counter the looming dangers facing Aden, Abyan, and the governorates of the South as a whole.
The attending leaders have reiterated the armed forces' high state of alertness and readiness to thwart any threat to national security. They are committed to preserving the hard-won gains of the people of the South, achieved through the ultimate sacrifices of their loyal martyrs, foremost among them the heroes of the armed forces and security services.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Imad Mohammed Ahmed, Director of the Office of the Vice Chairman of the Presidential Command Council (PLC), Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad al-Naqeeb, spokesman of the Southern Armed Forces, and Mr. Riyad Khaled, Director of the Office of the Chairman of the National Assembly.
