Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, chaired today, Monday, a high-level meeting of military and security leaders in the capital, Aden, which focused on the recent tensions and developments in the capital during the past two days.
The meeting discussed the ongoing media campaign, political maneuvers, and rumors propagated by hostile media outlets, the contents of which aim to undermine security and stability, and sow discord among the people in a vain effort to incite clashes with law enforcement and the institutions upholding the law.
In this respect, the meeting commended the vigilance and awareness of the people of the South in thwarting these hostile attempts and coalescing around their armed forces and security services.
The meeting positively evaluated the performance and commitment of the security forces, emphasizing their strict adherence to national duty in accordance with the directives of the Supreme Security Committee and stressing the need to enhance coordination and cooperation among various security services and military units within the framework of the command and control room.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening security and stability in Aden, considering it the cornerstone for economic, developmental, and social progress in all governorates of the South.
