Al-Kathiri Highlights Pivotal Role of Tribes of the South in Bolstering Southern National Cohesiveness


Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, received today, Tuesday, representatives of the Headship of Tribes of the Arab South Alliance, led by Sheikh Hussein Saleh al-Junaidi, First Deputy of the Alliance.

In the meeting, which included Mr. Nasr Harhara, rapporteur of the Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri welcomed all those present, reviewed the overall situation in the southern arena, discussed the political developments related to the cause of the South, the gains that have been made, and the role of the STC in achieving these gains, and stressed the importance of uniting all southerners to preserve the gains and successes that have been achieved in the past period.

Similarly, Al-Kathiri highlighted that strengthening southern cohesiveness and preserving the social fabric is a top priority for the STC, under the leadership of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, who always reiterates that the door to dialogue has been and will remain wide open to all national forces of the South for further consensus and agreement, removing differences, eliminating discrepancies, and strengthening national participation in shaping the hoped-for future for the people of the South, underscoring in the context the great role that the Tribes of the Arab South Alliance must play in this aspect.

In the context of a speech, Al-Kathiri touched on the latest developments related to the case of the kidnapping of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani and the role of the security services in uncovering the circumstances of the case, arresting the accused, and referring them to the judiciary to receive deterrent punishment.

In turn, Sheikh Hussein al-Junaidi expressed thanks to Mr. Al-Kathiri for his open-mindedness and comprehensive presentation of the developments in the southern arena and affirmed that the Tribes of the Arab South have been and will remain firm in supporting the STC and the Southern Armed Forces in order to maintain security and preserve the social fabric in the governorates of the South.

Sheikh Hussein al-Junaidi also took the opportunity to highlight the role of the Alliance in the political and security arenas, their participation in resolving tribal conflicts and disputes in the governorates of the South, as well as their efforts to quell sedition attempts by hostile forces aimed at targeting the South and its people's cause, lauding the role of the STC's executive bodies in the governorates and their joint cooperation in resolving many pending issues.
