STC Secretariat Discusses Report on Political Landscape in the Southern National Arena

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the STC's Presidium and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.

The meeting discussed the report on the political landscape in the Southern national arena during the first half of the current month of March 2024, presented by the Political Department, which reviewed a number of suspicious events and movements carried out by groups and entities in several governorates of the South that aim to destabilize security and stability in a crystal clear liaison with the Yemeni Houthi militias.

The report also touched on the ongoing attacks by the Yemeni Houthi militias on ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, which caused the disruption of maritime navigation to local ports and the rise in prices of imported goods in light of the deteriorating exchange rate of the local currency, which increases the suffering of citizens.

The meeting reviewed the organizational report for February regarding the development of work and raising the level of performance of departments of the Secretariat, as well as strengthening the field work of local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) in the governorates.

The meeting reviewed the weekly activity report of the departments of the Secretariat over the past week, as well as reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
