NSMA Deputy Head Meets with British ITV Team

Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe'y, deputy head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met on Wednesday in his office in the capital, Aden, with the ITV team, a British free-to-air public broadcast television network.

In the meeting, Mr. Al-Yafe'y welcomed the visiting media team, confirming that Aden welcomes its guests and international media delegations to convey the true image of security and stability in the capital Aden and the governorates of the South, given that Aden is a city of peace, diversity, and tolerance.

In the context of his speech, Al-Yafe'y explained that the current crisis taking place in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and Bab al-Mandeb Strait of maritime piracy carried out by the Houthi militias just serves their masters in Iran and only aims to disrupt the course of the peace process and will negatively impact food security in the country and disrupt international navigation, highlighting that the international community must stand firmly in the face of these terrorist acts.

Regarding the peace process, Al-Yafe'y reaffirmed the position of the STC on the peace process by ensuring that the cause of the people of the South be included within the negotiating framework of the peace process, since it is a pivotal issue for achieving a comprehensive, lasting, and sustainable peace that fulfills the aspirations of our people in the South in building their civil and federal state.

At the end of his speech, Al-Yafe'y stressed facilitating the tasks of the TV team in performing their media programs in the capital, Aden, and the governorates of the South with all transparency.

In turn, the ITV team praised the warm reception and facilities provided to ease achieving the goal of conveying the facts of the humanitarian situation and following up on developments on the ground.
