Al-Haj Discusses with OCHA Intensifying Humanitarian Interventions in the South


Dr. Saleh Mohsen Al-Haj, Director of the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Authority (FAEA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met today, Tuesday, in his office in the capital, Aden, with Mr. Saeed Hersi, Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

The meeting, which was attended by Mr. Anis Al-Sharifi, Deputy Director of FAEA, and Dr. Najib Qayid, Head of the International Organizations Department, discussed aspects of cooperation and coordination with OCHA and working to facilitate its humanitarian interventions in the governorates of the South.

Dr. Al-Haj reiterated the support of the STC for the efforts of international organizations aimed at alleviating the burden of human suffering, calling for the need for OCHA to intensify its humanitarian interventions and implement sustainable development projects that meet the urgent needs in the South.

For his part, Mr. Hersi appreciated the cooperation shown by the STC in facilitating the tasks of OCHA and looked forward to strengthening aspects of joint coordination and cooperation with the STC.
