The Director of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Dr. Saleh Mohsen Al-Haj, met on Thursday in his office with the Assistant Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission and the political advisor in the capital, Aden, Mr. Baha' Al-Sallami.
In the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al-Haj welcomed Mr. Al-Sallami and affirmed the STC's keenness to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the STC and the ICRC, provide a suitable and safe work environment for its humanitarian interventions, and ease the movement of medical teams and the workers in the capital, Aden, and the rest of the governorates of the South to ensure the implementation of its humanitarian tasks and goals.
The meeting reviewed a range of topics related to the activities of the ICRC in the fields of humanitarian work, training, and qualifications related to international humanitarian law.
The meeting also discussed the humanitarian interventions of the ICRC in the front-line areas affected by the ongoing war, its support of field hospitals, and basic and humanitarian needs.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the International Organizations Department in GDFA, Dr. Najeeb Qayed, and the Head of the Public Relations Department in GDFA, Mr. Waddah Saif.
