The political commission (PC) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting today, Sunday, in the capital, Aden, chaired by Dr. Khaled Ba-Madhaf, deputy head of the PC.
The meeting listened to the report on the visit of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), and his accompanying delegation to the United Kingdom (UK), and the fruitful results achieved by the visit due to the significance and global presence represented by the UK.
The attendees also listened to a briefing on the visit of the STC's delegation led by Dr. Nasser Al-Khubji, head of the political commission and head of the negotiations affairs unit, to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the positive participation at the Yemen Iinternational forum (YIF), and its important impact on the outcomes of the forum on the cause of the South, in addition to the active presence during forums, press conferences, and a series of meetings held by the delegation.
The meeting stressed that the visit of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi and his accompanying delegation to the UK and the delegation of the STC to the Kingdom of the Netherlands was a necessity within the framework of discussing with the international community the political track, putting the cause of the people of the South in negotiations as the key to a comprehensive solution in the country, in addition to the two files of combating terrorism, efforts to secure international maritime in Bab al-Mandeb Strait, and drawing attention to the dire humanitarian conditions in the country.
In another context, the meeting applauded the response of the peaceful mass rallies and their majestic gathering on the Southern Land Day in a number of districts of Hadramaut governorate, highlighting that this reflects a great political awareness among the people of Hadramaut and keenness to futile the hatched conspiracies seeking to undermine the gains of the people of the South and their struggles or hinder the project of restoring the full sovereignty of the state of the South, in which Hadramaut represents the strategic depth.
