The southern community (SC) in the United Kingdom (UK) organized on Saturday evening a speech and artistic celebration event in the city of Birmingham to celebrate the visit of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), and his accompanying delegation.
In the event, which launched with verses from the Holy Quran, President Al-Zubaidi delivered a speech in which he expressed his happiness to be among the people of the South who came from various provinces of the United Kingdom to attend this celebration, lauding the national and pivotal role of the people of the South in the countries of their destination to bring triumph for the just cause of their homeland.
In his speech, President Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of the role that the people of the South abroad should assume in the process of building institutions for the state of the South, highlighting that the South expects its people in the different countries of their destination to actively participate in various development and economic fields with their well-qualified and well-equipped expertise, capabilities, and competencies.
In the course of the festival, speeches were delivered by the headship of the SC and representatives of youth and women, all of whom welcomed the visit of President Al-Zubaidi and his accompanying delegation to the UK, affirming their full support for his tireless efforts to unify the southern ranks, strengthen cohesiveness and rapprochement among the southerners, and forge ahead to achieve the goals and aspirations of the people of the South and the right to restore their sovereign state.
The festival included many artistic and lyrical paragraphs, poems, and dances from southern folklore that acquired the approval and approbation of all before concluding the event with the honouring a number of pioneers of southern national action in the UK by the headshop of the community.
On the sidelines of their tour to Birmingham, President Al-Zubaidi and his accompanying delegation paid an inspection visit to the headquarters of the Southern Community in the Sandhill region and were received by Mr. Imad Al-Muflehi, the head of the SC, Sheikh Rajeh Al-Mauflehi, the deputy head of the SC, and a large number of members of the community in the UK.
After that, the president was briefed by Mr. Imad Al-Muflehi on the most prominent activities of the SC to serve the southerners in all regions and countries of the UK.
Within the framework of his visit to the city of Birmingham, President Al-Zubaidi inspected a number of SC schools in Birmingham and was briefed on the educational activities for the children of the SC and their positive role in connecting the new generation of the community with the history and identity of their motherland.
It is worth noting that this visit of President Al-Zubaidi and the accompanying delegation to the city of Birmingham comes within the scheduled program, which will last for several days and during which the president will hold a series of meetings with British officials to discuss a range of issues related to the political process in the country and ways to end the war and establish a lasting peace.
