President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (STC), stressed the importance and sensitivity of the current stage and the significance of concerted efforts to meet the necessary needs of our people while virtually chairing, today, Sunday, a special meeting of the Presidium and the supreme executive leadership of the STC and the heads of the auxiliary bodies of the Presidium.
President Al-Zubaidi reaffirmed that the STC's relations with the official brothers in the Arab coalition countries led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are strategic and pivotal to achieving common goals and interests and enhancing security and stability in the entire region.
After that, the meeting focused on the latest developments on the national scene, foremost of which are the economic and service conditions in the capital, Aden, and the liberated governorates. In this context, the meeting renewed the full keenness of the STC on the importance of the cohesiveness of the PLC so that it can carry out its entrusted tasks and responsibilities to face the challenges on the scene in the South and the North, at the forefront of which is confronting the dangers and threats of the Houthi militia.
The meeting underscored that the government has to properly assume its responsibilities and duties in providing services and paying salaries and the necessity to find a comprehensive reform process that involves the government and all state institutions and agencies in a way that enhances its ability to perform and enables the liberated governorates to manage their affairs and benefit from their resources.
The President listened to the members of the Presidium, the ministers, and governors who gave a range of briefings on the obstacles and urgent issues, affirming his continuous communication with the PLC and the official brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to discuss these files, especially with regard to public services, salaries, and the humanitarian aspect of the country, noting to continue communication to come up with rightful solutions in the upcoming stage.
The meeting touched on the security developments in the governorates of the South in light of the escalation of terrorist acts by al-Qaeda in the Shabwa and Abyan governorates. President Al-Zubaidi expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the heroes of the southern armed forces who martyred in the fields of confrontation with elements of terrorism and extremism, reaffirming the STC's progress in the file of combating terrorism until its eradication and securing the entire soil of the homeland.
The meeting reviewed the reports submitted by the STC's delegations to the Kingdoms of Norway and the Netherlands and the content of the meetings held by the delegations with ambassadors and envoys of brotherly and friendly countries, specialized research centers, international organizations, interested parties, and the international media.
To the end of the meeting, the president reiterated the STC's keenness and concern for the citizens' priorities and its commitment to defending their interests, congratulating the masses of our people on the occasion of the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, praying to Allah, the Almighty, to bestow goodness, security, and peace on our people and state, and to fulfill the aspirations of our oppressed people.
