Southern Transitional Council Presidency holds its weekly meeting and discusses latest developments

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held its weekly meeting on Sunday, chaired by Major General Ahmed Saeed Ben Brik, member of the Southern Transitional Council Presidency, chairman of the National Assembly of the Transitional Council.

The meeting discussed a number of issues on the southern arena, in which, the Southern Transitional Council renewed its firm and clear position to support of the comprehensive and just peace efforts and its rejection of any attempts to bypass the issue of the South and jump on the reality on the ground.

Two reports from the Political department of the General Secretariat and the Decision Support Center were heard.

The two reports provided briefings on the progress of Sweden's consultations, which are being held between the Yemeni parties under the auspices of the United Nations, as well as the results of the consultations and meetings of the Transitional Council with the various southern entities in order to achieve southern compromise.

The Southern Transitional Council warned against the continuous attempts to ignore the South, stressing that the acceptable solution to the southern issue should be acceptable only by the southern people and through their real representative, the Southern Transitional Council.
