STC Launches Food Baskets for Martyrs' Families and Vulnerable Households Across All the South

The Humanitarian Aid and Relief Commission (HARC), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), launched on Sunday a food basket distribution campaign to the families of martyrs and the most needy households in the governorates of the South, as per the directives of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), and with generous charitable support from the brotherly United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During the campaign’s launch, Mr. Moamen Al-Saqqaf, a member of the STC's Presidium and head of the local leadership executive body (LLEB) of the STC in the capital, Aden, underscored that the initiative is part of the STC’s humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of citizens, praising the UAE’s generous support across various sectors and President Al-Zubaidi's compassionate gesture, which reflects the ongoing dedication to improving living conditions for most vulnerable families in the South.

Lawyer Niran Suoqi, head of the HARC, hailed the humanitarian initiative for targeting the most vulnerable families, vowing to continue support and aid for eligible families amid the ongoing economic challenges.

During the event, lawyer Suoqi explained that 8,000 families in the capital, Aden, and 7,000 families in Lahj Governorate will receive the food baskets. She highlighted the STC's dedicated humanitarian efforts to alleviate citizens suffering, carried out in coordination with the UAE, which provides generous support across various sectors.

The first phase of the food basket initiative prioritized families of martyrs and the most vulnerable households in the capital, Aden, and Lahj governorate, distributing aid to 8,000 families in the capital and 7,000 in Lahj. Convoys will continue dispatching baskets to other governorates of the South in the coming days as a part of the UAE's generous charitable giving to mitigate the economic situation of citizens.
