The Secretariat Confirms STC's Unwavering Dedication and the Southern Armed Forces' Resolute Stance in Combating Terrorist Organizations


The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting today, Sunday, in the capital, Aden, headed by Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Haidara al-Shaqqi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Secretariat.

In the beginning of the meeting, those present stood up a mimute in tribute to recite Al-Fatiha for the souls of the heroic martyrs of the Third Support and Reinforcement Brigade, who were martyred in a terrorist bombing in Mudiya district of Abyan Governorate.

The Secretariat extended its condolences and sympathies to the families of the martyrs, praying to Allah, the Almighty, to bestow His vast mercy upon the martyrs and grant a speedy recovery to the wounded, highlighting the STC’s commitment and the Southern Armed Forces’ steadfastness in the face of all suspicious projects and their supporters and funders, which target the cause of the people of the South and aim to undermine their security, stability, and aspirations.

The Secretariat confirmed that the STC will steadfastly continue the battle to uproot terrorism as part of the military operation "Arrows of the East" and all threats targeting the security and stability of the South and the region as a whole. It called on the international community to support and assist the STC and its armed forces in completing the victories achieved in tracking down terrorist groups and destroying their hideouts, given that the security of the South is integral to the security of the region and the world.

Furthermore, the meeting touched on a range of developments on the Southern national scene, foremost of which is the environmental impact of a recent oil spill on some of Aden's coastlines, as well as a number of service-related issues in the governorates of the South.

The meeting discussed the organizational performance report of the departments of the Secretariat. In this context, several required measures were taken to strengthen the STC's field work and contribute to meeting the needs of citizens in the governorates of the South. In addition to that, a report on the level of work discipline within the Secretariat during the second week of August was reviewed, as presented by the financial and administrative department.

The Secretariat also reviewed and approved the minutes of its previous meeting after incorporating remarks raised, as well as weekly activity reports from its various departments.
