Mohammed Abdul Malik Al-Zubaidi, Head of the Assistant Local Leadership Executive Body (LLEB) of the STC for the Affairs of the Valley and Desert Districts of Hadhramaut Governorate, met with a delegation from the UN Envoy's Office, headed by Ms. Roxana Bazargan, Head of the Political Section in the UN Special Envoy Office.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Al-Zubaidi welcomed Ms. Bazargan and the accompanying delegation, praising their great efforts in preparing the ground to proceed with the political process to end the war and explaining that
This visit comes at a time when the people of Hadramaut are living in difficult economic and living conditions.
Al-Zubaidi pointed out that the people of the Valley and Desert of Hadramaut coalesced around the supreme leadership of the STC as the sole legitimate representative of the cause of the people of the South, noting that peace will not be achieved in the region except by resolving the cause of the people of the South and restoring their state with its full sovereignty.
He adds that the STC is open to dialogue with all political and social forces in Hadramaut, calling on the United Nations to promptly intervene and alleviate the suffering of the citizens of Hadramaut.
Furthermore, he stressed the need to strengthen transparency and accountability in the work of local authorities to ensure efficient and adequate service to society and to combat terrorism and drugs.
For her part, Ms. Bazargan affirmed that the Office of the UN Envoy is working diligently to address the humanitarian situation and strengthen efforts to achieve stability in the region.
In addition to that, the meeting discussed the efforts made by the Office of the UN Envoy to improve the humanitarian situation, reviewing a comprehensive overview of the situation in the Valley and Desert of Hadramaut, the security situation and service crises suffered by citizens, emphasizing the urgent demands to free the first military division and deploy Hadrami Elite Forces (HEF), and enabling its people to manage the affairs of their governorate.
