The STC Political Commission Holds Periodic Meeting and Commends Bravery of the Southern Armed Forces

The political commission (PC) assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting for the first half of April 2024 on Sunday in the capital, Aden, chaired by Dr. Khaled Ba-Madhaf, deputy head of the PC.

The meeting reviewed a report on the local and international political scene, submitted by the Monitoring and Follow-up Officer, which included a range of internal events and issues, as well as those related to regional and international affairs.

Likewise, the meeting discussed the latest developments in the military and security situation in the southern arena, especially in light of the recent developments on various fronts, praising the valor and sacrifices of the Southern Armed Forces, which have been shouldered with the great responsibility of maintaining security and stability in the governorates of the South.

The PC commended the national efforts to stop the illegitimate smuggling of medicines that were seized in Aden Airport, pointing out that this is one of dozens of illegal attempts aimed at plunging the capital, Aden, and the governorates of the South into a quagmire of chaos and randomness.

The meeting focused on the latest general developments, most notably the crisis of power outages for long hours, which has burdened the citizens of the capital, Aden, and the other governorates. The PC emphasized the need for the relevant authorities to assume their responsibility to find solutions to these disastrous conditions for southern citizens.

Furthermore, the Commission stood before the rains and floods in Hadramout and Almahra governorates, which resulted in a number of damages, and called for the formation of inventory committees to assess the damages suffered by citizens as a result of the flash floods, stressing the need for urgent relief, health, and service intervention by the local authorities to avoid the effects of these disasters.
