President Al-Zubaidi Meets with Leadership of the Local Authority and the LLEB in Abyan Governorate

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Thursday evening with the leadership of the local authority in Abyan Governorate, headed by Governor Abu Bakr Hussein, and the Local Leadership Executive Body (LLEB) of the STC in the governorate, as well as a number of security leaders and social figures.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed the attending leaders from the local authority and the LLEB in Abyan, lauding the efforts exerted by the leadership of the local authority, the LLEB, social figures, and tribal notables in the governorate to strengthen the southern national alignment and maintain security and stability in all districts.

During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi reviewed the latest developments related to the political process and the UN roadmap aimed at ending the conflict and bringing peace to the region, as well as its implications in light of the ongoing Houthi terrorist escalation in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb Strait, and the Gulf of Aden.

Furthermore, the President discussed with the attendees the recent developments related to opening the crossings in line with the procedures included in the first phase of the UN roadmap. In this regard, President Al-Zubaidi confirmed that all crossings across the governorates of the South will be opened according to an organized mechanism and under the supervision of the local authorities and security services in the governorates.

President Al-Zubaidi listened from Abyan Governor, Brigadier General Abu Bakr Hussein, and the attendees to a brief explanation of the general situation in the governorate and the concerns and aspirations of its people. In this respect, President Al-Zubaidi confirmed that he pays special attention to the Abyan Governorate and will do his best to support and back the local authority and security services in the governorate to restore its pioneering role in all different fields.

At the end of the meeting, Brigadier General Abu Bakr Hussein expressed his thanks and gratitude, on behalf of the people of Abyan Governorate, to President Al-Zubaidi for his positions in support of the local authority and security services in the governorate, his constant concern for the conditions of its people, and his keenness to solve the problems they face.

The meeting was attended by several members of the STC's Presidium, heads of auxiliary bodies, undersecretaries of the Abyan Governorate, members of the National Assembly, and the Council of Advisors in the governorate.
