President Al-Zubaidi Meet with British Deputy Prime Minister

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), along with Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the PLC, met today, Friday, with H.E. Mr. Oliver James Dowden, British Deputy Prime Minister.

The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, reviewed the latest developments in the political, humanitarian, and economic situation in the country in light of the efforts being made by our brothers in the region and the UN to reach a deal that ends the war and paves the way for a truly inclusive political process that maintains security and stability, as well as achieves a comprehensive and sustainable peace in the country and the entire region.

In this respect, the British Deputy Prime Minister reiterated his government's firm commitment to support the efforts to bring peace and end the humanitarian crisis that Yemen has been experiencing since the outbreak of the Houthi war, affirming that the British government supports the PLC and the government with all available means to carry out the national tasks entrusted to them towards the citizens.

For his part, President Al-Zubaidi expressed his deep gratitude with his brothers in the PLC for the efforts that have been made by the UK government in the humanitarian situation in the country and their hope that they will promote support for the power-sharing government during the upcoming period to implement economic reforms, the foremost of which is boosting the banking system and building up the capabilities of state employees in various fields.
