Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met on Tuesday at the headquarters of NSMA in the capital, Aden, with staff of the Media Center of the Southern Armed Forces.
In the meeting, which was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Al-Naqeeb, head of the center, Mr. Al-Awlaqi stressed the importance of the military and security media in light of the current circumstances and challenges facing the South, commending the development in the work of the center and its media role through the official website (South Shield), which has become one of the main sources for information on the ongoing military events on the fronts and at the security level.
Al-Awlaqi noted the importance of upgrading the media work in the center through qualifying and training courses for the working staff and for all those well-talented ones among the young and promising youth, to promote the military and security media discourse and develop its tools.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Al-Naqeeb gave an explanation about the work of the Media Center of the Southern Armed Forces as the interface of the military and security media in the South, elucidating the phases of its development, the challenges facing its daily activity, and the suggestions raised to promote its work mechanism.
In addition to that, Al-Awlaqi listened to the remarks and opinions of the media staff working in the center, expressing the readiness of NSMA to facilitate their tasks and ease the challenges they face in their well-started media activity.
